I have signed my child up for two activities (swim lessons and tee ball) and have had bad experiences with both.
For swim lessons, one of the 5 days/30 minutes I paid for was cancelled. It was made up by adding 15 minutes to the last lesson. Additionally all of the lessons were cut short due to the teacher chatting with friends, other activities not ending on time, or because the teacher decided to "reward" my child with the last 5-10minutes playing in the little splash pad rather than being taught how to stay afloat or the basics of swimming.
For tee ball, the parks and rec program failed to give us a schedule until a few days before the first game. Uniform tops were finally passed out the day OF the first game and right before pictures. The coach we have is also a big issue. Poor communication skills, and was making sexist comments to his coed team. (E.g., "You're letting a GIRL get to the ball before you?!"). The location of pictures was also never shared which caused additional mayhem trying to get where we needed to go.
I will NOT be signing up for sports with the Jefferson parks and rec program in the future. I've felt cheated with the money spent on both occasions and won't make the mistake again.
