Bruce B Review of WellStar Health System

The rooms are filthy - you cannot take a bath/shower because the tubs are condemned for use by the hospital; and because of that they leave the bathroom filthy as well. Bring a pack of undies because they give you nothing for your bottom half and the robes are short. Don't expect any privacy - they treat you like a lab rat and have hoards of interns following the doctors around. The doctors have no compassion for your feelings - I heard them making jokes and mocking patients who are distraught about having life changing health issues - their attitude is "get over it". They will add unnecessary and expensive services and then hit you with the bill. Thy did a cat scan on me which was totally unneeded and revealed NOTHING, and now that represents about 20% of what they want me to pay them.
They have no control over the healthiness of workers. I caught a bad cold from one of the nurses that lasted my entire stay there. On another occasion, a room assistant who had no teeth was spitting all over the place as she was attending to me in my room. Obviously they are a cheap employer who is not offering decent health care / dental insurance, or this person wouldn't be slobbering all over the patients.
Lastly, they kept me hostage for two days. After one of the doctors told me much of the treatments could have been outpatient, I demanded to be released. It took them two additional days to let me go. They kept IV tubes in my arm so I wouldn't leave, and kept giving me excuses as to why it was taking so long. On the last day I was fully dressed, with the tubes on my arm (no IV). It took them 6 hours to finally take it off an let me out of there. That's a least 3 days I am being charged for that I was there against my will. Ridiculous.
EDIT: Oh yeah, check and challenge your bill. I received bills that were not correct. One of which the whole bill was cancelled. If they can send you an entire bill that is wrong, how can you trust any bills they are sending you. The place really needs help.
AND while talking to one of the doctors about Diabetes 2, I mentioned a well known fact that generally Diabetes 2 can be maintained through diet and exercise. That's what my real doctors taught me, and a $900.00 per class course I took as well. As I was telling he that, she started shaking her head "no", as if what I was saying was untrue. I was like, if she doesn't know this, how can they make a proper treatment plan - or even a diagnosis? She wasn't an endocrinologist anyway - what was she doing? Probably just wasn't listening and assumes everyone who comes in there is stupid. I think they should stick to trauma and don't try to doctor anyone outside of emergencies. They started acting like they were going to be my permanent doctors - and that's scary...
