The Dawes Arboretum is a great place to explore nature and take photographs. Check out the view from the observation deck, on a clear day you can see for miles. There are numerous trails with info guides which are very informative. You can't miss the massive Beach Tree near the office it's rumored to be around 200 years old.

There is an obvious hidden gem about 1,000 feet long right before your eyes near the pond. Very hard to see when you are walking through it, easy to spot from a plane. Hint: It's all in the name:-) Check google maps.
