A travel disruption, and they charged my card without sending me a receipt or notification, I happened to identify the problem when reviewing unreimbursed charges. Now that they've been called on it, the best they [i.e., Michael Smith, Director of "Guest Services"] can assert is "Had your Travel Agency or you reached out to us during the time of your difficult travels, we could have offered more flexibility." I did reach out, but they're asking for documentation for something that happened last year. There are many other options at SFO, so I will avoid Westin and suggest that if you're a traveler, you do the same. Aloft or Four Points are more reasonable options for Starwood members near SFO.
