I had my hip replaced in August. Within 6 weeks an infection manifested in that leg requiring a second surgery to biopsy and treat. Ten days later an abscess formed on the incision. In October I went in for yet another surgery for the same infection, this time including an infectious disease doctor. During that 3 day stay I suffered food poisoning, by the way. By more "bad luck" I developed an allergy to the antibiotics the infectious disease doctor ordered. Diagnosed with Stephens Johnson syndrome in December I spent another week at St. Anthony's before my advocates got me moved to a burn unit at Mercy hospital. I spent the next two weeks in their burn unit being treated for the ravages of Stephens Johnson. I will never go to St. Anthony's again and am changing doctors as well.
