James Clark Review of The Gateway Arch

What a Great, no what a GRAND American Landmark. You Truly must see it in person, it is a sight like no other. It looks different from every angle due to its unique shape.
First time there construction was underway on renovations to the park and facilities, that made it a little less enjoyable. However finished plans look very nice, hopefully it will be that much better.
At this time I could only give it 4 Stars due to the construction and slightly increased wait times and ticket availability do to the South Tram in service at the time of my visit. YOU MUST purchase tickets ahead of time. I purchased mine online 2 days prior, and the day I went they were sold out. You can print them, or pick up them at Will Call (got mine from the Old Court House). Also ONLY Journey to the Top get you access to the trams and observation deck.
Another reason (which hopefully is being updated) is the distinct age of the Archs trams and observation deck. They could use a modernization, however it is a monumental achievement that you can even ride a Tram to the top if you have watched or read how the Gateway Arch was constructed. It is one of a kind, an experience like no other.
CLAUSTROPHOBIC BEWARE the trams are very very small. 5 people can sit in each tram, and if you do not have 5 people in your party you will be sharing with other visitors sitting knee to knee for the 3-4 minutes ride. The view from the top is good but not great, Very small windows as you would imagine, and hard to see out of for some do to the unique shape of the arch. Still a check in the box for me to go to the top (Get you Been to the Top Certificate from the Gift Shop!)
Overall a great place to visit wheather you visit the top or not.
