Last year, we found a cat that had been hit by a car and was so starved that he was practically skin and bones. After being unable to find a vet that would accept him for treatment, we were referred to Lee County Animal Control. They assessed him and determined that, with surgery for his missing eye and broken jaw, along with pain meds and antibiotics, he would be able to eat and regain enough weight to be adoptable. I decided to foster him during his recovery and, after many LCAC vet check ups and additional treatment, we adopted him two months later. The staff at LCAC is truly amazing! They are very compassionate, knowledgeable and patient. Had they not agreed to take him in and perform surgery, he wouldn t have made it. It was a breeze to work with the foster center and vet clinic. Every question I had was met with a quick response and every time he needed immediate care during his recovery, they made time for him. I HIGHLY recommend utilizing LCAC if you need help with an animal, want to foster or adopt, or need to rehome an animal. I also HIGHLY recommend investing in them by donating what you can, whether it be money, blankets, toys, food, etc. These people are heroes!
