Their customer service is terrible, the prices are...

Their customer service is terrible, the prices are way too high, if something starts selling well they raise the prices, and their prepared food has given me stomach aches and terrible diarrhea so many times I am afraid to eat it.

I will start discussing food. I admit I haven't tried their food since they opened their kitchen upstairs. I haven't because when the kitchen was downstairs I would eat their soups and their burritos and always get diarrhea. I am now frightened that I will need to rush to a potty after eating their food.

My hubby and I used to go into the GBCFC several times a week to either grocery shop or to buy lunch or both. I would buy the house made burritos a lot, as mentioned above, and the prices on those burritos started going up drastically. First they were 5.99, then they were 6.99, and before you knew it they were $10. (I will mention that their breakfast burritos aren't as expensive as their lunch burritos.) Their 10 dollar burrito wasn't worth the price both in taste and in size, so my hubby and I started buying frozen burritos. Those started at about 2.49. Next I knew it they were 2.99, and then they were all of a sudden 3.69 for a small frozen burrito. You can get the same thing at Raleys for 1.99 or 2.49. Raleys also sells a lot of locally grown food and has excellent customer service.

When the GBCFC was in its infancy they had very competitive prices. It was a pleasure to shop there even when it was without a/c in the summer. The sisters who own it made sure their customers were taken care of. When they moved to Court and Flint they became overly priggish and they no longer seem to care for their customers that keep their doors open.

I have been shopping with the food co-op since they were located on Wells. It has to have been back as early as 2004. I started paying for the membership annually by 2006 or 2007 when they moved to Plumas. I was told I made it to the 10 year mark and had become part member owner. Then later they mentioned to me that my membership had expired. I called and tried to communicate with someone about this and they didn't even bother to call me back. I have watched the customer service drastically go downhill over the years. I have even seen good employees leave due to the issues behind the scenes.

I will leave a positive note in my slew of issues. No one carries the produce that the GBCFC does. They have an excellent selection of produce year round.

I would be very grateful to receive an apology and get my membership worked out. It would be a step in the right direction with improving their customer service in my eyes. Until then I will advise people not to shop there because I feel they will be taken advantage of, and I will express my poor experiences over the recent years.
