I had much higher expectations of this place. I went to the Pittsburgh childrens museum the day before, and by comparison, the science center was felt overrated. There was a huge amount of people(mostly kids) there, and I was told by staff that it wasn't even super busy. Moreover, there was great aggravation from the lack of parental supervision. This place seemed a bit less involved. There were some places that allowed for free play, or creative learning. Most of the place seemed geared towards preteens, or at least it should be. We spent the whole day here, with a 5 year old and 7 year old. We went in the sub(very cool), saw the laser show(could have been better, felt it was drawn out), and every floor plus the sportswork building
