My brother had esphogia cancer and was on hospice ...
My brother had esphogia cancer and was on hospice care November 2018, passing December 29, 2018. Yes, they do REQUIRE a DNR! Not until 2 days prior to passing did anyone tell us he needed a gluten free diet! Not once, did anyone say we could crush the massive amount of pills when he couldn't swallow. Doctors take forever to answer nurses! When they decided decided he needed around the clock care, a very rude nurse Kim, refused to speak to my mother! When she arrived she was helping the previous nurse move him. She handled him as if he was already dead! Kim jerked his head and left it to the left side so we couldn't see his face or any possible facial expression. He always slept with his arms above his head. Every time he tried to put his arms above his head she would pull them done to his side and give him more morphine. Between 12:30 and 1am, she crushed pills and mixed it with morphine and gave it to him at least 10 times! Each time she gave it to him she repeatedly slapped his face!!! And I do not mean patted!!! She stopped when she realized I was watching. 3am when he passed, she SMILED at my mother and said, "sorry for your loss." And kept smiling! It took them 4 days to pick up equipment. Who wants to look at that for 4 days? This place is HORRIBLE!!! Worst service ever!!!
