I'm from Montreal and know smoked meat. Caplansky's isn't Montreal style smoked meat; it's more like corned beef. Not as tender and the meat is less tasty. Didn't really care for it. The fries are small and greasy. I liked the cheesecake though the portion was pretty small. New York style cheesecake which this mimics is supposed to be tall and very dense. The place didn't turn me on; it seemed on the crummy side.
