My trip to Beech Mountain was my first time skiing...

My trip to Beech Mountain was my first time skiing. The conditions were not ideal with a lot of ice and bare patches which is obviously not the ski resorts fault - Though i cannot understand why Sugar Mountain still had a lot of snow while Beech did not. Maybe Sugar has more advanced snow producing equipment? Some of the slopes had already been closed but there was one still open that probably should have been closed. It was difficult to see down the slope until you were already starting to go down it. Being new to skiing, I could not stop myself and got caught on one of the many bare patches. My ski did not release and I ended up hurting my leg pretty badly. Maybe if I were a more experienced skier, this would not have happened so I am not blaming Beech for the accident.

However, when i went to first aid to ask asked them to look at it, they only asked about my pain level which was not high by that point. Even though i described to them the manner of the accident and that my knee felt unstable and like it wanted to slide to the side, they only told me to ice it and that it would probably be fine. Turns out I tore my ACL which is apparently a pretty common ski injury. Based on that and my description, I would expect the first aid to hopefully have some idea of what was wrong or at least know my leg was not ok. My recommendation would be for Beech to ensure their first aid staff is knowledgeable on common ski injuries as well as their causes and symptoms.
