Craig Bleach Review of The Manhattan at Times Square ...
Disappointing Return
Disappointing Return
This is my second stay at this hotel.
Our first stay was in January 2015 and we were told that the hotel was undergoing renovation, which it desperately needed.
On returning, we were very disappointed to see that the rooms are much the same, if not in a worse condition than on our last visit.
Although the hotel is in an excellent location on 7th Ave the rooms are in extremely poor condition. There was wallpaper peeling away at several spots across the room. The furniture is old, tired and marked and the carpet leaves a lot to be desired.
We booked a room with 2 double beds as we were three adults and our room was the same size as a regular room with one double bed in it-except the beds were small doubles in order to fit them in.
The bathroom tiles are all cracked, mould patches dotted around the room.
No fridge in the room to keep drinks cool. Beds rickety and uncomfortable.
There was a lovely large television is the room.
During our stay we returned to our room one afternoon to find that the door had been left ajar after cleaning. This obviously alarmed us and although there seemed to be nothing missing from our room we informed the manager of what had happened so that it didn t happen again.
Overall if you can overlook the fact that this hotel is in dire need of renovation it is in a good location. As we were expecting it to have been renovated and our room did not exactly fit with the picture on our booking we were really disappointed.
