This review reflects my post buying experience with Toyota Sunnyvale.

Before I begin I want to emphasize that all the employees involved with RESOLVING my issues have been professional, pleasant, and working their best to do right by me. However, this does not excuse the complete lack of oversight and downright dishonesty that took place during the purchase of this vehicle.

Issue #1. upon purchasing my vehicle my salesperson informs me that the car, being used, only comes with one programmed key. This is too bad but I understand and make it a point to go make a key as soon as possible at my own cost of roughly 300 dollars (I tend to lose things). Lo and behold the salesperson at the other Toyota dealership informs me that ALL certified preowned vehicles come with two keys! It is part of the deal. After I go through the hassle of finding someone high up enough to fix this issue I am very impressed with their response. They send down a locksmith to my location and make me a new key. It was inconvenient to have to make time to meet the locksmith and I would have preferred to buy the car with key in hand but I did appreciate the effort made.

Issue #2. Roughly one month after purchase I am informed that despite directly asking my salesperson "is it smogged?" and him saying "all of our vehicles are" come to find I will need to go conduct a smog test. They of course offer to reimburse me, which I appreciate but still, it is inconvenient.

Issue #3 As we are leaving we ask " where is our certified paperwork?" we are rushed out the door and assured it will come in the mail. Well, it never came, and as it turns our I WAS supposed to receive and sign the certification paperwork at the dealership. They have just now gotten around to mailing it to me, and only because I asked. Now I will have to sign it and mail it back.

All in all, I appreciate the lengths they have gone to to fix my problems but that said none of these things should have been a problem to begin with. I can see maybe one screwup/oversight but when it gets to three it begins to stink of lack of oversight and unscrupulous behavior. If you choose to buy from Toyota Sunnyvale please cover all of your bases first.
