The course itself is probably the best public in the area save perhaps Lake of Isles at Foxwoods. It's a great design with lots of variety hole to hole and large greens that are pretty fair. There are many tees to chose from that aren't just two sets of tee markers on the same tee box; each tee actually provides a significantly different experience and range from under 6K to upwards of 7.5K yds. Additionally, it's conveniently located near I95 but not so close you can hear the highway.

Downsides are that there are virtually no facilities to speak of: no range, minimal practice green, and a very measly clubhouse oddly located at the 2nd tee. There is no more than a porta-potty at the turn. Also, you cannot book a tee time online and must call, which is inexcusable this deep into the 21st century.

A weekend tee time is fairly spendy, but there are price breaks to be had early, late, and weekdays which make a round at Meadow Brook definitely worth it.
