Boston Store operates bait and switch marketing models. After bombarding my email no less than 3 times with the same $50 off $100 purchase coupon after Christmas, we finally went in to see if we could get a good deal. Their coupons have so many exclusions that there is only about 5% of the store that is eligible for the coupon. Everything else is "yellow dot", "black dot", "incredible value", "super bonus buy", "door buster" or otherwise excluded (Ralph Lauren, toys, fine jewelry, fragrance etc.). We finally settled on a 4-pack of onesies and a couple ice scraper mitts that one associate told us were eligible purchases. Since we didn't meet the $100 for the coupon, I texted "SAVE" to a number posted on the racks for another text message coupon (that didn't indicate any exclusions). We walked to a register and were then told that our onesies were "incredible value" and the scraper mitts were "door busters" and not eligible for either coupons or any other additional discounts. Wonderful, so we wasted our two hours and walked away with two ice scraper mitts. What a crock - I won't be back except once a year for my kid's bubble jacket even though I live within walking distance. I also unsubscribed from all their email coupons. If you aren't going to honor your coupons stop flooding my inbox with them! I'd rather go to Kohl's or Gymboree because their coupons are storewide and I don't have to play the frustration guessing game of what is eligible and what's not.
