Last month, I was in a state of crisis, literally....

Last month, I was in a state of crisis, literally. I had finally given into the quarantine boredom that everyone has been warning each other about, and almost immediately wished I hadn t. I took my beautiful salon platinum balayage, and turned it into a complete mess!! In a matter of two weeks, I applied multiple different boxed color dyes on my hair, each application trying to fix the last. I had spent weeks calling salons and either wasn t able to bed squeezed in, or was denied service because of how critical the condition of my hair was, and the risks associated with touching it. Three days before my birthday, I decided to call around again, desperate for a miracle. When I first called Allison McTigue Salon, I reached their voicemail, which at that point, I didn t even bother to leave a message because my expectations of getting my desired answer was slowly fading. Not even thirty minutes had passed since my one phone call attempt, when I received a call back from Emily, the salons store manager. I could quickly feel her genuine love and compassion for people by the way she listened and responded with every word I said! Emily has a natural empathic heart, and she made me feel as if I wasn t alone anymore on my mission of saving my hair. She did whatever she had to do to quickly get me into the salon that day. I l was so excited and it just kept getting better once I had arrived.
The location was a new spot for this long-time owned family business. I had never had the opportunity to visit the previous location, but I m sure it was just as inviting! The new space though, had been carefully thought out and designed by the owner, Allison, to create a warm and comfortable vibe. I personally feel that her expectations of creating this homey space for all clients, had exceeded its original goal.
I was scheduled to consult with stylist, Honey Diaz. Honey is an expert in her field, and in my eyes a real angel sent to save me! She is the color correction queen, and balayage expert, which is exactly what I needed! Honey spent an immense amount of time ensuring that every move she made was not only working towards fixing my rainbow colored mess, but also being extra careful to not add any more damage to my brittle, breaking, lifeless hair She made it her main priority to reach my hair s healthiest stage possible, before even attempting to add any color.
I was informed and involved in every step that was being formulated by Honey, along with Allison, even when she was in the middle of another task. I was provided with the sincerest advice on the different treatments that would benefit my hair tremendously. I ended up deciding, after listening to all sort of different inputs and conversations amongst everyone, to focus the first session on reaching the strongest point we could, before adding any color to my hair. I came back the next morning bright and early, with my hair feeling stronger already, excited to see the end results that were coming soon! I never doubted that Honey would make me feel beautiful again, but she definitely delivered far beyond. The end results were unbelievable. I was so relieved and happy to be feeling confident in my hair again!
It certainly isn t hard to see the extreme professionalism and genuine hard work that every single member of this salon pours in, but it s very rare to also develop real, close connections with every single one of them in just two days! Allison, Honey, Emily and Jordyn are undoubtedly some pretty awesome gals, and I can t wait to see them all again SOON!
