The location, amenities and facility are great. The resort is in a relatively secluded area of Fort Lauderdale, so it s exclusively just guests at the beach and most people use the pool throughout the day. There are plenty of available seats by the pool and ocean. The rooms are modern, clean and well-appointed.

There are two areas where this hotel needs improvement...

(1) The restaurants stop serving food at 10PM, which is very difficult when you arrive on a late afternoon flight from the Northeast or MidWest (where most visitors seem to be from), as by the time you get to the hotel and get situated you re rushing to get a late dinner. For a hotel this size, if the main bar is open, there should be a small pub fare option available until the bar closes. This is a big resort and this is a big miss from a management perspective.

(2) The quality of the service ranged from bad to great. It was inconsistent. Service at the outside restaurant was generally poor, while service at the inside restaurant was generally great. The negative comments about the front desk staff, generally, appear to be accurate. I had several minor requests (for things to be replenished in our room, notifications, etc.) and they mostly just didn t want to be bothered and rarely followed through to process our request (to housekeeping and/or facilities) or would never get back to us (when I asked if they could tell me when something would be available). This is not typical of my experience at a Marriott. That said, we had a couple great bartenders, one amazing waitress and a very attentive server at the pool.
