Just ordered a bbq from Canadian Tire liberty village. My roomate called and spoke to someone who confirmed they would bring it up the stairs. The bbq was left on our doorstep instead of being brought in. They claimed they knocked and rang the bell but nothing was heard. I was waiting on the first floor. When we called back they said they are closed and nobody will bring the bbq inside for us. They tried to get us to pay a pickup fee to have it picked up and said we can not return it until the store reopens Due to Covid-19. We are two single females ,and my roomate is a nurse who is working very hard during this covid situation. I am also an essential worker for Metrolinx. We don't know what to do. We tried to support our local store as the owner asked us to from our community Facebook page and this is what happens. Terrible customer service. There was no compassion on the phone and the owner of the store has blocked us from messaging him on Facebook. Now there is a bbq sitting outside our front door! We feel helpless. We paid for the extra services of delivery as well to set up the bbq was offered a never trailed bbq that was already set up but was confirmed from the manger of the store as well as two other employees it would be brought into our townhome.
The owner was aware of our financial situation as well knew we were supporting a new store who couldn t open due to covid. In the end we have had not one person from the store offer to assist or even refer us to a contract company that can. A company that does not have humanity and treat anyone like this is not a store that I would recommend to anyone this is my first google review I have ever made and I do it with humility and in hope that the store can learn from this and that this doesn t happen to another. No refund, no options and disregarded as not a valued customer treated as if I never purchased or worse that I had harmed the store. Customer service the worst
