For SPANISH CAMP: What I wish was more clearly stated...the Cass Lake site is not the photos you see on the website. It is poorly maintained, with spiders in shared bathrooms that kids have to leave their bunk rooms with flashlight to access. The water is from the lake, and not filtered so the kids don't want to drink it or shower in it. The food is delicious if you don't have allergies, but if you have an allergy the "alternate" choice lacks flavor and they have limited vegetables and unripened or canned fruit. It's the same price as the well-maintained Bemiji site, and when we heard rave reviews about Concordia we didn't know there was such a big difference in the locations. Sadly even the lake had leeches in it, so kids didn't swim and to use canoes needed to pass a "swim test", so no canoeing either. WHAT WAS GREAT: the people are fantastic. They were kind, understanding, and did their best to help kids who were homesick. But it's hard to learn when you're feeling hungry, dirty, and can't sleep well (beds were like camping for two weeks). Wish the experience was more consistent for kids across camps. They did visit the German camp and said it was BEAUTIFUL. So choose your camp site wisely! Learn German?! Hope this helps....
