The Verdi Theater was inaugurated in 1801 then with the name of Comunale, popularly Teatro Grande, Trieste had five. It takes the name of the composer of Busseto at his death in 1901 by resolution of the municipal council which will change the name also to the opposite Piazza del Teatro in Piazza Verdi. For melodrama lovers, the billboard is usually interesting, without incurring the usual criticisms that all Lyric Seasons bring with them. The orchestra, the choir and the corps are highly esteemed by the critics. The "Verdi" has hosted great names of the national and international Opera. It should be remembered that the architect Piermarini, the author of La Scala in Milan, collaborated on the design. He also saw the "Festival of the Operetta" on stage for some time, with the best artists of the moment, much appreciated by the audience that remembers him with nostalgia. I recommend at least one visit, the price is not binding.
