Cen N Review of Huneycutt Realtors

We rented two homes through Huneycutt for roughly 3 years. The first place we rented was decent, minus the HUGE and disgusting amount of dog hair that completely wrapped the outside a/c unit (clearly was not inspected or cleaned), and the dog hair that came out of the bathtub jets . These issues were brought to our property managers attention with nothing done - we cleaned them ourselves when we should not have. We ignored the red flag and rented a second property from Huneycutt.
The Second rental home was a nightmare. The master bedroom, stairs and upstairs rooms were carpeted and supposedly cleaned prior to us moving in. The neighbors stated that the cleaning company was there long enough for me to smoke a cigarette , which would explain why the carpets left our feet/socks BLACK. We actually had to lay down plastic runners because the carpets were SO dirty. We rented a carpet cleaner ourselves, used it three times in each room AND stairs....the water never ran clear - or even a light brown. Always BLACK. 48hours of cleaning, just money wasted. Im also willing to bet the carpet was riddled with mold - we were always sick one way or another living there, but not since we ve moved out.
Every single wall in the house was dirty, sticky and full of nails, holes, or peeling paint. It was like living in a decade of gross history. Nothing was cleaned and we were told they d take $100/$120 off our firsts rent because that s what it costs to hire cleaning crews. We were fine with this until we actually got in and started cleaning seeing the extent of it all - it was beyond disgusting. I was STILL finding things to clean almost a year later.
The upstairs toilet sprung a leak causing water to drip down onto our dining table (I had to get a new table because it was ruined, and frankly, I was also disgusted). Huneycutt s repair guy fixed the leak but left a giant hole in the ceiling that was still their the day we moved out a year later - he was actually supposed to come back the day after fixing the leak to repair the hole in the ceiling.
We spoke with the property manager on two different occasions about the hole left in the ceiling. Stopped caring about it when we saw they didn t care about it.
The lock box was left on the front door the entire time we rented the property, causing us difficulty using the front door. Every time we spoke to the property manager we mentioned the lock box still being on the door - being told she would come out to get it. She joked about it still being there our last day. *rolling my eyes*
Something crawled into the a/c duct and died. We called, sent emails and called again...nothing was ever done. Wasn t a huge concern to them. The smell eventually went away. *rolling my eyes again*
We called about the carpets, the walls, the windows...everything we were concerned about. We listed EVERYTHING we experienced with the condition of the house when we moved in - we
moved out leaving it in near perfect condition (minus two damaged closet doors from moving out - hitting with bed frames - costing $140 for replacing both).
Our deposit was $950...we got $85 back three months after moving out . Cleaning cost almost $400. Cleaning the house that we were even told was NOT cleaned before we moved in, $400?!? A property where the manager stated there was only enough time to clean the carpets , $400 ?!? We took a personal day to come back to TN to clean and vacuum every room, counter and appliance, underneath the fridge and stove (our dogs hair and normal bunnies). We did forget inside the refrigerator, but there s NO WAY it cost $400 to clean that! We weren t allowed to be there for the final walk through due to COVID so I feel the walk through was not done honestly. Especially since the other place we rented was $120/$150 for the standard cleaning fee.
We may have gotten screwed over in the deal but we are thankful to be done with Huneycutt and Clarksville.
We had a fantastic experience with Vision Realty.
They didn t want to see us go because we re great tenants . Explain that.
