Heatherley Peckham Review of The Westin Portland

First of all upon arrival and check in we had the unfortunate experience of dining at the C2 restaurant in the hotel. Six hours later I woke up vomiting with terrible diarrhea and terrible stomach pain. And for the next six days my vacation was ruined as I was in bed sleeping most of the time with vomiting and diarrhea and stomach pain. Today is day seven I am back home with symptoms still just a little more mild. When I complained to the food and beverage manager and explained what happened he refused to believe I was sick from eating at C2 because of the timeline of events. I explained that food poisoning can show symptoms pretty immediate depending on the type. I asked to explain himself and what he knew about food poisoning in an email and his story changed to it is possible to have symptoms of food poisoning within the timeline i experienced. He went on to explain the extent of training everyone with hands on food under go exc. I explained that I traveled all day and that was my first meal of the day. I knew it was the lamb meatballs I ate at C2 that made me very sick. What was offered for the inconvenience was soup or ginger ale. Last thing I needed was any food from any kitchen here at this hotel I thought. At check out I was still charged for the meal that made very ill. It just felt like a slap in the face. Not a very hospitable attitude. Also if someone with a compromised immune system had eaten the contaminated food it could have killed them. This is not a situation to be ignored or not recognized. But because I was still charged for the meal it was very clear that management just didn't believe me. If anyone else has become sick from eating at any of the hotel restaurants at this location please report it.
