Whilst in the Western Cape this is a must if only to help fund the protection of this beautiful endangered cat and to understand and hopefully assist in its preservation given the dwindling numbers and threats to its existence. The cheetah encounter, for those eligible (age restrictions ) is a fantastic experience when you can stroke a cheetah and feel and hear it purr. The outreach centre is battling against cheetah shooting, poisoning and trapping by farmers who see them as a threat to livestock by encouraging protection of livestock with the assistance of non lethal Turkish dogs which protect a flock or herd but do not harm or attack the cheetah.
