The service department of Crown Honda of Southpoint is nothing but ridiculous, because they don't offer any appointments and you have to try your luck on a first come first serve basis. If you think they are doing so well that they can handle any volume of walk-ins, well, it occurred to me when I walked in and was told that it was all 'booked' and they could not take any additional 'appointments'. Even when you are lucky and your car will be taken care of, you have to wait for 3 hours for a simple 30-min-service job to be done. This is even the truth when my car had a recall, and it was not my choice to get the car serviced. I still had to walked in by the time when they open (which is recommended when they told you they couldn't take appointments), and waited 3 hours to get my car back (I was told the repair took about 30 mins).
It was amazing that I received a phone call from the sales department of Crown Honda of Southpoint, and was asked to trade in my car. The pleasant sales person encouraged me to make an 'appointment' over the weekend to review the options of a new car and trade-in. This just made me laugh.
If the sales department of a busy car dealership can handle appointments over weekends, if doctors' offices can handle appointments with reasonable waiting time, why on earth can't a car service department handle appointments? The only answer I can think of is that THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS' TIME. With such an attitude, will they care about the service they offer to your car? The answer is up to you.
