This is 3 stars instead of 5 for something that may not entirely be their fault. My ex called me to see if me and my son could take his cat if he needed us to, then he passed away days later. They removed the cat from the home that same day, a couple hours before I got to his house, then wanted $40 to get the cat back (which I had to borrow as it was a day before payday) and I had to get shot records with my name on it (thankfully I took the cat to the vet under my name while my ex and I were still together years ago). Otherwise our poor cat, who was so aggressive toward staff out of fear, would have been stuck in a cage covered by a blanket for 5 days (she was the only cat out of many who's cage was completely covered), then put into "adoption status" open to the public (leaving her petrified for 5 days in the dark when I wanted her immediately). I believe they would have euthanized her because of her attacking them to the point that they were afraid to give her shots. She would have been deemed unadoptable. The day after I got her home she readjusted to her normal self and is happy, loving, and playful with my cat.

They got 3 stars because the staff was amazing, helpful, and worthy of 5 stars, but they're forced to follow rules that are worthy of 1 star. Even if your spouse passes away while you're at the market, they'll remove your pet from the home if nobody is home.... you won't be able to reclaim the pet if your spouse happened to be the one to take him/her to the vet.

I've included pics of the docile kitty, Opal, at home with her new loving family, as well as a photo of the first few minutes we freed her in the pet carrier.
