May I have your attention please?? If you have never been personally fit for shoes, RUN, don't walk to Tortoise and Hare and get it done!!
Today I got fit for hiking shoes and running shoes and it was the absolute most excellent experience ever! I worked with Kristen and she went above and beyond.
As I have gotten older I have learned that having the right tools and equipment make a huge difference in performance and in the case of something like shoes, health and injury prevention. Take the time to get what is right for your foot, gait, workout and needs.
Bonus side note, I have had ankle issues and injuries my whole life practically, but today I was told my ankles are incredible strong, don't roll and are very balanced. I 100 percent attribute this to my weightlifting and also now my strength training barefoot (per Idalis's recommendation during 30 Day Breakaway test group.) If you don't get train barefoot, or if you don't yet strength train at all, it has effects that just may change your life in a really positive way you weren't even expecting!
These are my new trail shoes.... Cannot wait to get out there again this week! (Oh, and while trying on shoes at the store they even had me go outside in them.to walk on rocks.... Talk about making sure they would work for ME in MY real life! )
