A friend who lives on the Upper-West Side recommended...ok demanded...that I take my family to the French Roast Cafe while we were visiting the city in Spring 2013. I trust this guy a lot as a local and didn't hesitate. The food was not only reasonable in price it was delicious. The service was good, in general, except for not having the same server throughout the meal and then asking for a refill 4 different times and not getting one until the the check came...and we were charged for the refill. That was a bit of a slap-in-the-face but I'm going to trust that it wasn't intentional. We were never rude, we asked kindly multiple times and then got it as we were leaving.

Back to the food. It was unique, satisfying and fairly priced! I feel important and able to say that I know a great local joint now for future endevours!

Overall, impressed!
