perhaps if raymond blanc were plying his trade in france, he would be running simply a very fine country restaurant, on a par with le pere bise or le pyramide. but this is england, and his offerings taken in context are extraordinary, his setting almost matchless. no disappointments, nothing less than superb, and worth the price. his cookbooks are worth taking home with you to top it off, easy to follow and matchless in result.
