A painting of the elephant-hunting lover king Juan Carlos (+ long suffering saintly wife) welcomes you ominously to this maze. Half of it is dedicated to hundreds of baby Jesus & obese maids. Once you reach the impressionism section you might be too knackered. A couple of Renoir & Monet aside, once l stumbled trying to get out of this giant laberynth, my advice is don't bother trying to follow "fire exit signs" (please God, nothing to ever happen in there!) for they led to closed/banned exits. The best part is when thanks to a dozen of helpful staff (who agreed that the signage was diabolical) you come up with the sight of the shop, which meant you somehow reached freedom!
I wouldn't say was a bad Museum for I would qualify it as a Maze with some stuff hanging .
On a positive note , after it you will find the (bigger in size) Reina Sofia or el Prado Paradise on Earth .
Give Thyssen a go if you are struggling with suicide ideation: if you don't suffer heart failure trying to exit you will forever cherish life & freedom! ;)
