Randy J Review of Hobos Lounge

In many ways, Hobo's is much more than a gay-owned restaurant. To me it's an important gay Portland landmark at a time when they are starting to disappear. There is Darcell's just north. One wonders how long that place will last. Hobo's is rumored to close for over a year now. That's worrisome because after Starkey's closed, gay places that really are gay are diminishing. Cadillac remains. Anyway, I have been coming to Hobos since 1994. The food stays remarkably consistent. I had a French dip about two weeks ago. It was meh, but that's OK. A few nights ago I had a filet and scallop entree that I might only find at Morton's or Ruth's Chris or some restaurant in Seattle, S.F. or L.A. Yes, that good and at a price that is way affordable. I never want this place to close. I wish ownership all of the best luck in keeping the doors open.
