This is not simply one of the most talented companies in the country, from its artistic director Lourdes Lopez, to its corp de ballet, it is recognized Internationally as one of the best ballet companies in the world. (With one of the best ballet schools in the world.) And to confirm what I've just said, recently there was a Balanchine festival at City Center in New York City. Miami City Ballet, founded by Toby Lerner Ansin in 1985, was invited along with the Kirov, the Paris, The Royal Ballet, New York City Ballet, and the San Francisco Ballet. They say you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. The same goes for ballet companies. Remember the advertising for Lay's potato chiP? Betcha can't eat one?
