I expected IKEA, an international organization, to be the epitome of efficiency when it came to having to do business in this current 'new way'. They already have most of their merchandise pre-packaged, ready to take out to the loading area where people and cars are 6' apart, loading up their own goods. It seems that their normal processes could easily be modified, but apparently they are completely unable to manage this. We tried to order a dishwasher through the Click & Collect process. IKEA needs to replace their IT Dept!! We have never been able to get past their Click, much less their Collect; the system is always 'temporarily down'. (Start calling the system at 9:30 pm and try to get an opening???! We tried last night but gave up after half an hour.) We were able to speak to an employee in the parking lot who admitted the system was not very good (an understatement). And they don't even want you in their parking lot until they email you your Collect appointment time which will be quite some time after you Click your order. Oh, and they are not receiving any email at this time. I am baffled and SO DISAPPOINTED by their ineptness; unable to adapt when other businesses with far fewer resources and systems have managed to come up with very workable plans.
