I'm in my third week of a summer term at UMD. I drove up from Florida. I'd like to say a couple of things about the campus department of transportation or DOT as they call it. Not sure what relationship these Nazis have with the school or who pays their salaries but their sole purpose in life appears to be to victimize the student population. They are thugs and they're after your money and your sense of well being. DOTs has created a toxic, hostile environment that will rot your soul from the inside out. They seem to be taking their cues from DC which has issued me $800 in the form of two speed camera tickets. It used to be called highway robbery. Now it's a form of taxation and exploitation by corrupt, out of control bureaucracies. These along with the problems of overpopulation and traffic in this area are all factors anyone who cares about quality of life should consider before coming to this little known corner of hell.
