Jack Flowers Review of Cathedral of St. John the Bapt...
There is something about a great ancient structure...
There is something about a great ancient structure that transcends history, that transcends religion. This cathedral is among the oldest buildings in the already ancient city that is Savannah, and regardless of your personal religious or spiritual affiliation it is abundantly clear that the beauty of this building is something that not only can but should be appreciated by as many people as possible. Admittance to the interior of the church is technically free, although donations are encouraged. I would encourage anyone with the opportunity to bear witness to the pure beauty and magnificence of this centuries-old building, regardless of whether or not you share the specific religion or even regardless of whether or not you have the ability and desire to donate the recommended amounts. In short, this is one of the most magical buildings in one of the most magical places in the country.
