I'm not sure if this is a hotel or a high-concept performance art piece whose goal is to humiliate me. I called to find out the rate for a room and sat on hold for 30 minutes. Seems like it would have been an easy enough question to answer for an actual hotel, right? If they were real then certainly they could tell me their actual room rates, right?

Its a very interesting business model to show no interest whatsoever in a potential customer. Wild stuff. If their goal was to make me feel like an idiot for sitting on hold for so long then I guess they can mark me as mission accomplished.

I can't say that I've ever been there but if it is real then I have no reason to believe it isn't a nice place. I'm sure the rooms are clean and orderly, the staff is probably informed and friendly. But I am convinced that it doesn't actually exist. I called a number that goes straight to one guy doing multiple voices, pretending to juggle me around, just to see how long it takes before I give up. A determined part of me wanted to push it to an hour but to what end? To see if he got so frustrated that I was occupying his line for so long? So that I could win? Am I really that proud? No. No I am not. I admit defeat, honorably, at the hands of a master prankster who convinced me with a realistically designed website that he had an actual hotel.
