This must be Canada s worst employer! I have been working for two years for this company, it mistreats its employees, Port houses were observers stay are run down and disgusting as no regular cleaning is done in two of them. I have been repeatedly cheated on claimed expenses and compensations for work related travels and have experienced dishonesty when asked for clarification. I was pressured to deliver paper work that took me hours to complete while I had a fever and told the company that I was not feeling well, still after working till 4am, while sick, I still got phone call from the deployment office in a demanding tone where is your paper work?

Working conditions and boarding procedures can be extremely unsafe and the office does act properly, immediately, nor does it act professionally when unsafe working conditions are reported.

The company produces observers up to 4 times per year, presumably banking on inexperienced, young and financially unstable or desperate kids that are also dependent on gaining experience and hoping for a reference afterwards. I have so far, not met a single client nor an employee that was satisfied with this company. Every time a new class of observers has finished the course, all senior or previously certified observers have to step back to give the new observers a chance to work. During that period the company has the advantage of employing those newbies at the possible lowest rate, while observers with higher salaries are put on the wait list, which seems to be a concept that works in the favor of the company.

I can not believe that this enterprise is allowed to operate in Canada for as long as they have and that these modern 21st century slavery like conditions continue to this day disgusting.

Shame on anybody in the office that supports and partakes in the exploitation of their employees that work hard out there at sea to rake in the profit that allows some guys in the office to expose them to mistreatment and unfair practices.
