The room was dirty. The wall has stains on them and we were told we were the first person ever staying in this newly remodeled room. The tiles in the shower are cracked and what looks like fragments of a bird's nest in the bathroom. The hallway had a rolled-up carpet which may or may not have had a body in it. I add humor to what is a very serious issue and a dark bluish on the name of Best Western. I have stayed with this hotel chain for so long I love the hotel's damn flies and experience I have when I stay with them. This experience has been by far the worst not only with Best Western but the worst hotel experience I have ever experienced. The employees are rude and give wrong information. Before arrival I called a couple times the week before and unemployment looping told me they did not offer upgrades to platinum members. She did not know who told me that but they don't do business like that here. After I spoke to a manager name Pat he assured me that they do and that I would be actually staying in a room that they had just remodeled and would be the first guest. The day of my arrival the office staff asked me for a cash deposit in addition to my payment I asked the employee if that was because it was a sketchy area. I was not being offensive I literally seen a lot of dangerous looking people hanging around the hotel. As we have traveled far and could not read bookIt made traveling to this destination difficult. When I said that a man came around and said this hotel is not sketchy and asked me if I had any other issues. I found out he has the general manager for this location his name is Mr. Yeager. If I had known what we were facing I would have definitely stayed at a different Best Western location for this trip.
I am saddened by this experience. I have never been treated this way at a Best Western. My daughter actually said on the way to the car I don't feel safe around those people. I will not take this experience and use it as a reflection of Best Western. I know better and have stayed with this company for years.
