I am a small business owner. I contacted this accountant to get help with getting my businesses taxes and accounting efficient. I live in another state and contacted this accountant in advance to make sure that he would be able to help me with my issues before I spent $700 to fly 3,000 miles, get a hotel, and rent a car to meet with him in his office in person. He assured me he had been in practice for many years and would be the perfect accountant to handle my needs. During our initial consultation, which was originally stated in writing to be free, I was charged $100. He then charged me $300 to file less than a dozen 1099 which is when I started getting suspicious as this was 3x the rate of average accountant. He then tells me that he needs to file an extension and to send him $500 more for him to get started on this. After taking nearly $900, I stopped hearing from him. I thought it best to ask for an invoice of current charges, of which I had to repeatedly ask for for weeks, at which point I think he suspected I was done wasting time with him as he sends me back an invoice basically stating he owed me no money even though he has done no work and that his practice is too busy to help me any further and wishes me the best of luck. Now, after spending a total of $1,600 I have to start all over again for this year s taxes and finding a new accountant. This has been a very time-wasting, over-priced, unprofessional experience. I would not recommend this accountant, his practice, or his services to anyone running a business.
