It was a fair bit cheaper flying Allegiant from Harrisburg to SFO, but we paid the price in overall anxiety. We arrived 1 hour prior to our flight, only to find a huge crowd at bag check and security. Apparently, Allegiant scheduled full flights every 5 to 10 minutes from 5:50am to 6:25am. Although check-in and TSA staff were trying their best to move things along, and they did expedite people based on their boarding times which was very nice of them, there were simply too many flights departing within too short of a timeframe; the facility was overwhelmed and bogged down. We, along with dozens of others, could do nothing but slog through lines and bite our nails. We got our flight after no less than 3 "final-final-final boarding call" announcements. I realize SFO doesn't have the power to make Allegiant HOLD THE FLIGHT if they know people are in line; however, they should work with Allegiant to schedule more staff if they are aware that many flights will be departing within a short timeframe.
