The alarm gives us piece of mind. The signs and decals they provide give would be intruders a heads up. I will say that my alarm has went off many times, and I mean many( forget to turn it off and open a door or window) and they do not call. I have had one call in the two plus years I have had the alarm and it was at the time i needed to pay for the next year.
