susan Fletcher Review of The Lamb Inn, Edgmond

Arrived quite a bit early for our booked table but was not a problem was shown to our table. Decor nice. On ordering we enquirer if the lamb would be pink & was told that is the only way to have lamb so we opted for that. Two of our starters arrived promptly but I had to wait for my soup - which was worth the wait tasty & hot. My husband had squid which consisted of a metal bucket full of lettuce with 4/5 pieces of squid plonked on top. Crab cakes I was told were nice.
The mains arrived & I can say Iver seen such a well done slice & half of lamb I started to eat but the gravy & potatoes were Luke warm. It was taken away & I was told they would do a fresh one but the lamb is not pink. I enquirer it the beef was pink & if it was I would the beef instead. It arrived & to say it was well done was an understatement & still not that hot I had half my Yorkie & left the rest. The waiting staff were lovely & very apologetic saying the chef had said it was a big bit of meat so he could control if it was pink - rubbishy cook it pink if people want it well done you can Cooke there a little more but if you over cook it in the first place.
We did stay for dessert.
Shame as lovely decor & waiting staff but sorry your kitchen let you down. 3 stars for front of house staff.
