I spent a woderful long weekend at the beautiful Ross Bridge resort. I am a Birmingham native and live 20 minutes from this resort, but I feel like I am away, far from home, in the lap of luxury when I go to Ross Bridge. I had 2 sets of friends staying at the resort this weekend and I stayed in both of the rooms. My friends from work and I used our teacher discount through the Retirement Systems of Alabama to book connecting rooms for a girls spa day and night out. I had a wonderful early morning scalp and foot massage by Suzanne, then lunch by the pool until some of our other friends arrived. We waited on the pleasantly shaded patio outside of JT's lounge just off of the lobby while we waited on our room to be ready. The rooms were very nice, extremely large bathrooms with seperate tub and showers. These two rooms overlooked the front drive area.We could even see the bagpipe player come in the entrance in the early evening. I had another friend who was in town for our 35th class reunion and her room overlooked the golf course and I stayed with her the rest of the weekend. We also took advantage of the daily free cocktail in JT's. The cocktial was different each day which was really fun. We also had some light snacks and food at JT's which were all great, especially the burger with the truffle fries! We ate by the pool a few times with great food and drinks. The breakfast buffet at Brock's is delicious....I loved the croissant french toast! The service at this hotel is excellent! All of the employees from the spa, to the front desk, to the pool, at Brock's, and especially at JT's were super friendly, kind and helpful.....the epitome of southern hospitality! My only suggestion is the rooms need some USB ports for charging devices, other than that it was a great experience!! I am already trying to figure out when I can visit again!
