Oh, my goodness. Delaware Hospice was a lifesaver for me when my husband had Alzheimer's. Their Transitions program helped me tremendously as a caregiver to understand what I could expect as the disease progressed and connecting me with a support group and volunteers to guide me along. When it came time to transition into Palliative Care for my husband, the CNAs, nurses, hospital bed, and other equipment fell naturally into place so he could remain at home. The 5-days-a-month respite at the Center was a godsend for me to get some much-needed rest. By the time the end drew near, Delaware Hospice had become "family" that gathered 'round my children, grandchildren, and me to comfort and advise us step-by-step. Even afterward, they reached out with grief counseling and are still available to me more than a year later. And all this is FREE, absolutely no charge. The quality of their services and facility, their compassion, professionalism are beyond compare. As you can see, I highly recommend them and suggest you get in touch before you think you "need" them. Delaware Hospice is for much more than when death draws near.
