The hotel was lovely. Staff was very nice. Here is where they lost us as frequent visitors.
This hotel got booked for us by the director of guest relations of MGM International, as a result of an absolutely terrible stay at MGM Detroit. The director was extremely kind, communicative, and accommodating.
This was my birthday visit to Vegas, so my wife communicated two absolute things that we wanted. 1) Clean, quiet, modern property 2) Nice pool, hot tub access.
When we checked in, the staff was very nice and wished me a Happy Birthday!
We went to the room, changed, and went to the pool to relax. When we arrived, we found a sign that the pool complex was closed for a private event for the Las Vegas Raiders.
We asked if there were any other properties under the MGM umbrella we could visit as an alternative. "No".
They did offer a $100 dining credit for the inconvenience. It is clear to me that any time a guest complains about an issue with MGM, the solution is to throw free things at them until the guest forgets the shortfalls.
(It happened in Detroit too)
Rather than work to eliminate issues, they simply wave some money in your face.
If Delano were not an MGM property, I would have given it four stars....
I doubt that I will ever stay at one of their properties again.
