Take this review with a grain of salt, as I did not pay for my time at the Lodge. Rather, I was lucky enough to be gifted a long weekend stay by a friend whose family owns a 3 bedroom condo. Needless to say, it's a beautiful property and proximity to the lifts and Vail Village are 2nd to none. Service was excellent from the valet to the front desk to the guy who came to cart our luggage down at the end of trip (who was so super pumped that we left him a bunch of beers and couple bottles of bourbon in the fridge you'd think they were gold bricks).
As you'd expect from Vail, everything is crazy expensive. Lift ticket? $180. Dinner at a slightly upscale restaurant? $100/head. Ski rentals? $50 a day or more. Lunch on the mountain? That'll be your 1st born child, sir. None of that mattered, however, when we awoke to fresh snow on day 2 and spent it plowing through knee deep powder. That's what it's all about.
If you can afford it, do it.
