Dizzy's to hear Rufus Reid. Hearing a "big band" sound with some excellent musicians was a treat. The show had enough variation to keep it interesting and some really impressive individual performances.
Dizzy's does a good job of getting people in and out and the view of the skyline of NYC in the background sets a nice scene for jazz. The service is good efficient/polite but with an impersonal sort of vibe. While my companions enjoyed their food (fried chicken, mac and cheese) I found my gumbo to be thin, rather bland, and with some un-chewable additions that seemed to be old okra. That being said you don't sign up for Dizzy's for the food. Drink prices are on par for what one expects for NYC.
