This was my first time at this hotel and there is a lot to like. The location is great, the food is outstanding. Our room was comfortable and spacious. We did experience a few turnoffs... the check-in process is outside and lengthy due to the signing of extra forms for Covid and just general explanation of the property. We were freezing and had to wait on line outside to check in. There is a desk indoors that could have been used but social distancing would need to be inforced. We felt that it would have been worth the effort to make sure that happens. Put your customers first.
Secondly, a bit of a turnoff to be charged for a toothbrush when the rooms are over $200/night. Lastly, the service for breakfast and dinner was a mixed bag. Most were friendly but we felt ignored. I waited for a long time to sign my breakfast tab to the room, but one was not brought to the table. As I was leaving I told the waitress to (Wanda, very friendly) to charge my breakfast to the room. When I checked out I was surprised to see a gratuity was added to my bill(party of 1). I mentioned it to the desk clerk and he said that was the hotel policy. I let it go because the service wasn't bad, just not very attentive.
There is much more to like here than not, so we would not hesitate to stay here again.
