Elspeth de Boeck Review of South Gloucestershire Leisure ...

We have only used the pool and soft play and although they do what they say on the tin, they are very both looking old, tired and generally abit grim. I heard the gyms had investment but I can't see that they've spent any money anywhere else.
The soft play is a small room, with a few vending machines and tables. No atmosphere and the walk down there feels like your being sent to the boiler room. Kids don't care about that stuff though so my two are happy enough for about 20 mins. Any longer than that and they get bored as it's quiet and small.
The swimming pool is large and the baby pool good size and warmth too.
My only gripe is the cleanliness and wear and tear.
Everything looks 20-30 years old and in need of some love and as people can just walk by the pool and lockers with shoes on you are constantly trying to avoid hair, dirt and even chewing gum!
No dip pools on entrance to the pool either so all that lovely stuff could make it's way in the water. Which I find gross but others may not care.
Overall Kingswood feels neglected and is a far cry from Bradley Stoke and longwell green.
I know size and clientele probably have a lot to do with this but perhaps if it was a nicer place to come then they'd get more through the door.
