Jennifer Myers Review of JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskok...
Just returned from our sixth visit to JW Marriot, ...
Just returned from our sixth visit to JW Marriot, and we were pretty disappointed. We used to say "when are we coming back" and now its "if we do." Still lots of fun activities for the kids which is nice and a gorgeous location but it was all of the little things that added up to the poor experience. The service has gotten a lot worse. I think they may be training? Much less friendly. Much less attentive. You don't even know who is serving you half the time, and no one comes to check on you. The food is very expensive (Think higher end Toronto restaurant) and really poor. Both meals I had were very overcooked, parts were still cold like they had been mis-microwaved. There is no other restaurants nearby so you need to eat on site or bring your own food. The menu isn't broad enough to enjoy that. We brought food to stock the fridge (mostly kids food and some snacks and salads) and the first night our fridge froze everything rock solid. We lost everything. Although they apologised, staff didn't offer to credit us some kids meals which would have been what I would expect from the Marriot. The pool (which had always been our favourite part) was so over chemicaled that my husband and child had a reaction. The washroom serving the pool was dirty and the soaps empty. On top of this the price has increased since the renos. So overall, we won't be rushing back which is a huge shame, it has been our yearly winter escape for a long time.
